Health and Fitness Goals for 2015

I have discussed financial goals for the year and the Opportunity Fund, but I also wanted to share my personal goals. Life isn’t only about financial success. In order to enjoy financial success, you need to be in good enough physical shape to enjoy the free time we work so hard to obtain.   Background To give you some background, I played baseball and basketball from an early age until about 16/17 years old. During my college career, I did not participate in any organized sporting activities, but I worked out regularly. I would say I was in my peak physical shape around age 20. I actually saved a lot of my workout spreadsheets from back then, and my weight ranged between 166-172 lbs between January and February 2010. My schedule was working out six days per week, with Sunday being a rest day. Additionally, I would run each day after my weight lifting, although based on my workout sheets, this was less consistent than it should have been. Each workout lasted between 45 minutes and 1 hour and 45 minutes based on the few months of worksheets I reviewed. During my college career, not only was I working out almost daily, but I was also walking to classes and walking 15 minutes to my car when I had to drive to work (while in the dorms). A few times a month, a group of us would play basketball or play racquetball as well. It was a very active lifestyle. Until my recent career change, I was driving everywhere and my workouts were extremely inconsistent. Since I was in public accounting, my workouts were essentially nonexistent between January to April. The remainder of the year was extremely random. I’d work out hardcore for three weeks and then work would pick up again and I’d lose my motivation and time.   A Fresh Start With my new situation, I am in a great position to make 2015 be the best year for physical shape and overall health. I live within walking distance to my current employer (less than a mile walk) and my employer has a gym on site. Most days, I walk at least 2 miles excluding any gym workout. My...
